šŸŽ® Ghost of Yotei Leaks!

Dive into gaming's wildest week: Switch 2 bombshell, Ghost of Yotei leaks, and industry shakeups!

Good morning!

Look, I was gonna have a chill week BUT then Nintendo dropped the Switch 2 like it’s hot, PlayStation started scheming around GTA 6, and Doom decided it was too cool for multiplayer. So yeah, gaming news this week? Absolute chaos… in the best way.

In this edition, we’ve got:

  • Switch 2 madness — price, release date, launch games, and yes… mouse Joy-Cons.

  • Why Shawn Layden peaced out — because live-service gaming ain’t his jam.

  • Ghost of Yotei leaks — and it's possibly slicing into our lives way earlier than expected.

Here’s everything you need to know this week in the world of gaming.

TOP STORY

šŸŽ® Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Recap: The Highlights, The Hype, The Hefty Price Tag

Well, it finally happened. Nintendo took the mic and said, ā€œHere’s the Switch 2, baby.ā€ And yeah—they brought the goods.

šŸ“… Release Date

June 5th. Mark it.

Book the day off. Tell your boss you're on a spiritual quest. Because that’s the day the Switch 2 drops.

šŸ’ø Pricing

  • Base Console: $449.99/ Ā£395.99

  • Bundle with Mario Kart World: $499.99 / Ā£429.99

  • Pro Controller: a slightly disrespectful $74.99

  • Red game cards. Thanks, Nintendo.

šŸ•¹ļø Launch Titles: The Good Stuff

These are dropping day one, and there’s some serious fire here:

  • Mario Kart World – It’s open-world(ish), it’s got weather, and now you literally drive between races. Peak chaos.

  • Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition – Yes, actual Cyberpunk on a Nintendo console. Your move, Stadia.

  • Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD – RPG nerds, eat well.

  • Hitman: Word of Assassination (Signature Edition) – The bald legend is back.

  • Deltarune Chapters 1–4, Yakuza 0, Survival Kids, Fortnite, and even Civilization VII for the turn-based brainiacs.

And yep, GameCube games are back! Wind Waker, Soul Calibur II, F-Zero GX, and more, via Switch Online + Expansion. That purple cube lives on.

🧠 Biggest Reveals

  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – Zelda’s flashback fever dream. Ganondorf’s getting decked again.

  • Donkey Kong Bananza – He’s back, and now he’s hanging with sentient crystals. Sure.

  • Kirby Air Riders – It's been 20 years, but our pink fluffball is flying again.

  • The Duskbloods (FromSoftware) – Vampires. Winged rats. Vibes.

✨ Hardware Glow-Up

  • Faster. Louder. Meaner.

  • 1080p LCD, 120fps support, HDR, and 3D audio

  • Built-in mic, GameChat, and Joy-Con 2 with mouse controls (yes, really)

And GameShare is coming too! Play your games locally or online with others, no extra copy needed. Finally, you can flex your Mario Kart dominance without them buying the game.

🧰 Upgrade Packs

Already own Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, or Kirby? No worries!

You can buy a Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack with better visuals, framerates, and some spicy new features.

Final Verdict:
The Switch 2 is shiny, pricey, and packed with just enough nostalgia and innovation to make you seriously consider selling a kidney. Between the upgraded visuals, mouse-like Joy-Cons, and a killer day-one lineup, Nintendo’s ready to run this generation back, louder and weirder than ever.

LATEST NEWS

GENERAL
  • Shawn Layden dipped from Sony right before the live-service wave hit full speed—turns out endless microtransactions and babysitting toxic lobbies weren’t really his vibe. He helped bring us God of War and Uncharted, not battle passes and broken launches, so yeah… respect. (TechSpot)

  • Doom: The Dark Ages said ā€œnahā€ to multiplayer so they could pour every drop of hellfire into the campaign, and honestly? Big W. No half-baked deathmatches, no live-service nonsense - just you, a shotgun, and 22 chapters of demon-slaying medieval madness. (GamesRadar)

šŸ”„ Will You Be Playing Doom: The Dark Ages?

Be honest—are you grabbing your medieval shotgun and charging into hell, or sitting this one out like a pacifist?

āš”ļø Ghost of Yotei Might Be Sneaking In Early...

If you're still expecting Ghost of Yotei to drop late 2025, you might wanna sit down, because the whispers (and some spicy leaks) are pointing to a July or August release. Yep. This year.

That’s earlier than expected, and PlayStation might be dodging the GTA 6 nuke that's about to detonate in October. Smart move. Nobody wants their samurai game overshadowed by carjacking chaos.

The sequel drops us 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, with a new lead (a revenge-driven warrior named Atsu), a new setting (near Mount Yotei), and hopefully the same "slash first, ask questions never" energy.

Oh, and forget Jin Sakai, he’s a legend in the lore now. Expect some nods, but the ghost has moved on.
