šŸŽ®ļø GTA 6 Delayed (Again)...

Rockstar hits snooze on GTA 6 (again), Ubisoft picks fights, and I’m plotting a premium version of this newsletter for the real deep-dive nerds.

Good morning!

Excited about GTA 6 coming soon? Yeah… about that.

Rockstar just punted it to November 2026, which means we’ve all got another year to finish our backlogs and pretend we’re okay with it. Elsewhere, Bungie’s struggling to launch anything that lands, Ubisoft’s declaring victory over angry fans, and Sony might actually be doing something pro-consumer (wild, I know).

In this edition, we’ve got:

  • GTA 6 delayed (again) - cue the collective groan

  • Ubisoft vs. the haters and a suspiciously timed ā€œwe’re fineā€ speech

  • Bayonetta’s glasses, Bungie’s losses, and a few spicy industry shake-ups

Here’s everything you need to know this week in the world of gaming.

Want your game in front of 11,000+ passionate gamers and industry decision makers? Get in touch.

I’m thinking about adding a new tier to the newsletter - Would you be interested in more deep-dive essays, behind-the-scenes breakdowns, and spicy takes on the biggest releases and industry drama.

(Your vote helps me decide if I should double down on essays… or keep yelling about GTA delays and quick news)

TOP STORY

😭 GTA 6 Delayed (Again)... to November 2026

Yep, Rockstar did it again. GTA 6 has been officially delayed to November 2026, because apparently polishing perfection takes longer than building a small country.

Now, before you throw your controller, let’s break this down:

Rockstar always delays its blockbusters, remember when Red Dead Redemption 2 got bumped twice? So this isn’t shocking, just mildly painful. The silver lining? This should be the final delay. (Yes, we’ve said that before. No, we’re not learning.)

šŸ’ø Why This Actually Makes Sense

Releasing in November is pure business genius. It lands right before Black Friday, meaning all those PS4 holdouts might finally cave and grab a PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X ā€œfor GTA 6, honey, I swear it’s for the story.ā€

Plus, it’s a power move, GTA 6 dropping smack in the Call of Duty release window basically screams, ā€œYour move, Activision.ā€

šŸ”„ The Industry Fallout

Publishers everywhere have been dodging GTA’s shadow like it’s an asteroid. With the date finally ā€œlockedā€ (probably), expect a flood of release date announcements now that everyone knows when not to launch their game.

Studios that sprinted to release early or delay late, you’re safe now. Well, unless Rockstar delays it again, in which case: good luck.

šŸ•µļø The Timing, Though...

Some fans think Rockstar timed this delay to distract from recent layoff headlines, rumors of staff being cut for ā€œleaking info,ā€ or maybe for talking about unionizing.
Coincidence? Maybe. Convenient? Absolutely. Either way, everyone’s too busy tweeting ā€œNOOOO 2026???ā€ to care.

šŸ’° What’s Next

Expect a shiny new trailer or pre-order announcement soon, partly to calm investors who just watched their 2025 payday get punted.
And when pre-orders hit, brace yourself: GTA 6 could cost $70… $80… maybe even $100. (Rockstar can literally do whatever it wants, and we’ll still buy it.)

TL;DR: GTA 6 is delayed, the industry’s breathing again, and Rockstar’s laughing all the way to the bank.

Until then, go touch grass or finish that backlog. You’ve got time. A lot of it.
